SUMMER RESEARCH TRAVEL GRANTS

DRCLAS awards grants to both Harvard undergraduate and Harvard graduate/professional school students for research requiring travel to Latin America or the Caribbean and research sites within the United States. The deadline for the Summer 2007 Research Grants is Tuesday, February 27, 2007 by 12 noon, to the Office of Career Services, 54 Dunster St. Click here to visit the OCS website for an application.

TERM-TIME RESEARCH TRAVEL GRANTS

The DRCLAS Term-Time Research Grants support students whose thesis, dissertation or thesis-equivalent research requires travel during the academic year. Preference is given to students completing final stage thesis and dissertation research. The deadline for 2007-2008 Term-Time Research Grants is Monday, October 29, 2007 by 12 pm.

GRADUATE STUDENT CONFERENCE TRAVEL GRANTS

Conference Travel Grants of up to $300 per year are available to graduate students traveling to conferences to present papers on Latin America. Deadline is rolling and students are requested to submit applications at least one month before conference date.

Summer Internships in Latin America

DRCLAS assists undergraduate, graduate, and professional school students in finding a summer internship in Latin America or related to Latino communities in the United States. The Student Services Coordinator will help the student identify and initiate correspondence with appropriate contacts in the region; students are responsible for agreeing on terms of employment and other logistics with their employers. Most internships in Latin America are unpaid; students are encouraged to apply for DRCLAS Internship Grants for partial funding (see below).
